Musical Fundraiser for Hurricane Irene Victims Set for Monday As we watched Irene strike the Northeast over the summer, the feelings of anxiety and, later, "unexpected" flooding, were all too familiar. Now, a local singer/songwriter is looking to give back. "I played at least fifteen Katrina fundraisers up North in 2005 which helped raise over $100,000.00 in concerts at churches, theatres and nightclubs," Chip Wilson said, according to a news release. "So now, it's time for payback." Wilson has gathered a stable of New Orleans artists to play a fundraiser for Irene victims tomorrow night at Jackson Ave's Trinity Episcopal Church.
