Tonight is one of the most anticipated evenings in all of Carnival season. It's a new era for the Pelicans, with DeMarcus Cousins making his debut with the team tonight following a massive NBA trade. An illuminated bicycle parade rolled during Carnival on this day in 1887. Celebrate this 130 year anniversary by hitting up Knights of Babylon, Chaos or Muses — all parading along the Uptown-St. Charles route. Read on for more tonight.

Tonight, rock legend Sting is performing at the Lakefront Arena. If you're looking for more local music, Delfeayo Marsalis is leading The Uptown Jazz Orchestra on Frenchmen at his weekly gig, and Walter "Wolfman" Washington plays up the street. Or, check out the Krewe of Nyx and the Krewe of Ancient Druids as they kick off the week-long countdown to Mardi Gras. The Best of Carnival's "Missed Connections"

The confetti has been swept from the streets and the bleachers and port-a-potties are almost all down. Mardi Gras is over. Many locals are already thinking about next year, but a few people are looking back at lost opportunities during the 2016 festivities. Those souls can be found on CraigsList’s “Missed Connections” section. NoDef offers our CL Carnival wrap.

After Ash Wednesday comes the City’s official Mardi Gras report. On Thursday (2.11), Mayor Mitch lauded the 2016 Mardi Gras as a "huge success" and released a slew of stats.

All Tomorrow's Parties

With the the coconuts and the shoes displayed on the mantle, it is time to de-Mardi Gras our apartments. You’re on your own with all that glitter, but Uber is helping locals donate their beads to a good cause. The ride-sharing service announced that they will pick up your extra beads and deliver them to Arc of Greater New Orleans’ “Beads by the Pound” program.

Carnival Photo Recap

On Monday (2.08) the party started and contunuedd through into Mardi Gras. There really is no way to do justice to New Orleans' Carnival celebration. Fat Tuesday simply must be experienced for yourself. However, NoDef's  Paulo Steven Diniz sacrificed safety and liver alike to embed amongst the crowds and bring y'all some snapshots of the big fete.
