Things started off bad and only got worse for the LSU Tigers baseball team Tuesday versus the University of North Carolina. The No.1 Seed Tar Heels (58-11) struck early in Omaha, Nebraska, and never let up. 

Sloppy LSU Drops College World Series Opener, 2-1

The LSU Tigers baseball team played the underdog UCLA Bruins’ game Sunday night in Omaha and paid dearly for it. In suffering a 2-1 defeat , LSU (57-10) found itself in just the type of grinding pitchers’ duel that has become UCLA’s calling card this season.

LSU Baseball Roaring in to College World Series Opener Against UCLA

Don’t look now, but things seem to be coming together at just the right time for the LSU Tigers baseball team going into the opening round of the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The squad comes into Sunday’s matchup vs. UCLA (7 p.m., ESPN2) riding a seven game winning streak, having not tasted defeat since a 1-4 loss May 23 at Arkansas.

LSU Sweeps Oklahoma, Advances to College World Series (VIDEO)

The Tigers are geuxing to Omaha after sweeping Oklahoma, advancing them to the College World Series. LSU won 2-0 in a best of three series after beating Oklahoma 11-1 in the second game. LSU is making the trip for the 16th time, giving the elite team a chance to win their seventh national championship.

LSU, Lafayette, Nola Converge on the Box for College Baseball Tourney

With the SEC championship firmly in their grasp, LSU is set to go prove themselves on the national stage. But there won't be a Mad Hatter involved in this late spring spree. The Tigers baseball team is headed down the road to the College World Series, and their eyes are on the big prize after a successful regular season.
