NOPD Make Big Bust Blocks From Fest

The vending rules at Jazz Fest are pretty strict. Even if you live nearby, the Fest frowns down upon unlicensed sales. If those unlicensed sales are enough drugs to stock Hunter S. Thompson’s suitcase, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) does not appreciate it either. Today, detectives busted a Mid City man for allegedly planning to sell a potpourri of recreational narcotics.

Not for Teacher: Educator Busted for Drugs

A Plaquemines Parish school teacher and his roommate are headed for some serious detention after an inter-agency operation ended with a drug bust at their residence. Three different agencies coordinated to follow up on a tip about the educator and ultimately discovered a criminal stash of heroin, acid, 'shrooms, and weed at an uptown residence.

Tulane Frat House Bust Yields $10k in Drugs

A stash of psychedelics that was hoarded at a Tulane frat house is now in the hands of authorities. State Police seized $10,000 worth of drugs from the Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 627 Broadway St. Friday after a pair of students from the Uptown university accepted a fresh shipment from the fuzz. Jules Staib and Wyatt Silverman, both 19 and Tulane students, were arrested after they accepted a package containing 107 grams of ecstasy (MDMA) from undercover state police officers.
