Louisiana's Shaw Group Sold to Texas Company in $3 Billion Deal by Shay Sokol One of the Pelican State's biggest companies will now be guided by the Lonestar. The Shaw Group Inc. announced today it has signed a merger agreement with the Texas-based Chicago Bridge & Iron Company, under which CB&I will acquire Shaw in a cash and stock transition valued at $3 billion. The combination of CB&I and Shaw, now to be called CB&I Shaw, will create one of the world’s largest engineering and construction companies in the global energy industry.
