Today in NOLA 8.9.17

Today, learn the art of tarot or show off your movie trivia knowledge. John Mayer plays the arena, while a troupe of performers and storytellers make up Esoterotica. On this day in 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested in New Orleans following an altercation when he was distributing pro-Cuba leaflets on Canal Street. Now, more to do this Wednesday.

Jazzfest Opening Day (Photos)

First Taste of 2013 Fest, in Pictures

Crowds and an increased police presence in the normally serene Faubourg St. John neighborhood meant that JazzFest was upon us once again Friday. The first day opened with sets from John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr., Band of Horses and a slew of New Orleans favorites. Check out photos of some of the music from the first day:

Today in New Orleans 4.26.13

The day has come, and fest goers are counting down the minutes until JazzFest kicks off in the Fairgrounds! After the fest, see giant puppets, Anders Osborne, Dumpstaphunk, Rebirth, and more. Happy Birthday to Tannon “Fish” Williams, born April 26, 1975. Now, more to do this first fest Friday!
