JazzFest Planner: Picks, Cubes Weather for Thurs., May 1

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is set to take to the Fair Grounds Thursday for the second half, and clear skies are here to greet it. Today's headliners include The String Cheese Incident, Solange, Lyle Lovett and Beau Soleil. Below, some picks from the tents, cubes and a full weather report:

JazzFest Weather Update: Sunny Saturday

Mudfest is likely to remain with us for the duration of Jazzfest. But the sun will finally come out and get a little dirty, even without Patti Smith telling her to do so. Starting off cool this morning, temperatures are slated to make a slow climb into the 70s this afternoon, producing some mild weather by the time the headliners take to their stages. The chance of precipitation is at 0 percent all afternoon. Click through for full details:

Up-to-Date JazzFest Weather

The fairgrounds are staying muddy, but that won’t keep hardcore fest goers away this second Friday of Jazz Fest. The rain is supposed to clear up around 11am, and the chances of precipitation go back up to 15 percent by 2pm. Squeeze a jacket in your chair bag, the temperature is going to drop down to the low 60s at 3pm. Click through for up-to-date weather.

Jazzfest Weather Update: Storm on Sunday?

Jazzfest is set to open under cloudy skies Sunday. And if the weather wonks are correct, the 2013 installment will see its first batch of wet weather this afternoon. A line of strong thunderstorms are moving toward the area, slated to start around noon. However, the rain is likely to taper off later in the afternoon. The best bet today is to bring an umbrella, or just enjoy a little more brunch before heading out. And, remember, the Fair Grounds get muddy after rain. Click through to peruse the forecast:

Today's JazzFest Forecast: First Saturday

Jazzfest, do you feel your temperature risin'? As more crowds pack the Fair Grounds and musicians hit the stages, the air will also be getting warmer. The mercury is set to camp out at 80 degrees on Saturday, with a minimal chance of rain. Click through for complete forecast:
