Trailblazing cellist Helen Gillet is no stranger to Jazz Fest, but this will be her first year playing solo. Gillet is playing the Lagniappe Stage on Saturday, May 3, at 11:30 a.m..

Rain or shine, crowds poured into the Fairgrounds this weekend for Billy Joel and Jill Scott, and also lesser-know gospel greats like Sacred Steel. Whether they were piling on the SPF or stomping around in the mud, Jazz Fest attendees didn't let the weather push them out of the gates until the bitter end.
