SBXLVII Party Recap: Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, & the Younger KnowlesIt's a football weekend, but the NFL aren't the only stars in town. Last night's pre Super Bowl shows welcomed the legendary Stevie Wonder to the stage, and Justin Timberlake performed for the first time in five long years. Celebs from Paul McCartney, to John Legend, to Sofia Vergara showed up, and some performances were touching enough to bring Ravens and 49ers fans together for a few minutes. Well, maybe. Rap and Porn Icon Kool Keith Opens Up During Surprise NOLA StopJust over ten days after Mardi Gras 2012, legendary perverted New York rapper Kool Keith played a last minute 2am New Orleans show at the tiny Dragon’s Den on Frenchmen Street, on his way out to a bigger performance at the 5th Annual Arizona Pornstar Ball industry function. Ten years ago, Keith filled the big room at New Orleans’ House of Blues with the likes of Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor in the audience. Jay-Z, Kanye Watch Throneby Charlie Christian After arriving early at the Watch the Throne Experience (presented by Swag Industries in collaboration with Coutour Lifestyle, LLC),a lap of the Superdome was in order to polish off some High Life. New Orleans looked tucked in for the night: cars sliding past on the expressway, Occupiers snuggled low in their tents, even abandoned hospitals stood complacent and resigned. The lights ringing the Dome shifted idly from purple to blue to gold. Except for the drunk couple fighting next to the broken open port-o-potty it felt like a scene from Sleepless in Seattle. That is all to say that what transpired in the Arena a short while later at the hands of Jay-Z and Kanye West was the complete, m***er f***ing opposite. |
