It’s no secret that we here in New Orleans enjoy any reason for a party. Ahead of Independence Day just one week away, a new study found that the Big Easy is one of the best destinations in the country to throw down in the name of being free. 


Louisiana is the Least Independent State in America, Says Report


Ahead of Independence Day in just two short weeks, a ranking of the freest 50 in the United States was released on Tuesday (6.20). WalletHub conducted the survey, analyzing states on key criteria of reliance like the government, consumer finances, the job market, international trade, and personal vices. Louisiana ranked dead last in the study, indicating that the Boot is the least individualistic state in America. 

 


Police Search for Missing Teen


Mother’s Day weekend was not a time of family for all New Orleanians. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) are on the search for a missing teenage girl this morning.


Pickup Pipe Bombs Were Meant for Patriotic Show


USA chants are so passe. The man who flipped his truck full of pipe bombs near Lockport yesterday told police he was planning on using the homeade explosives for a 4th of July celebration, according to new information released today. Legal fireworks were also found in the pickup truck of Terrytown's Tony Barisich. The 53-year-old now faces a raft of felony charges in connection with the Monday discovery of his patriotic arsenal. He'll go down as a hero to all those who love to blow stuff up for America.
