The Science of Success

Havilah Malone, Media Entrepreneur & NLP Expert, Shares Her Tips for Empowerment

“I believe in the law of correspondence — what happens on the inside is reflected on the outside,” the young woman with a commanding yet genial voice explained one late-April afternoon in New Orleans. “And despite what some might think, we have control over what goes on on the inside.” When Havilah Malone speaks, it is wise to listen. The media figure kindly shared her own story as well as some top tips for success with NoDef.

Peace of Strength Celebrates the Power of the Survivor

Every 98 seconds, someone in America is sexually assaulted. And every 8 minutes, that victim is a child. According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), only 6 out of 1,000 perpetrators of sex crimes will end up in prison. For the last several decades, the month of April is dedicated to Sexual Assault Awareness in its many forms. Although the U.S. has a long way to go to improve state-level responses to sexual assault, a new community initiative in New Orleans aims to inspire victims to embrace life as a survivor and find strength in the aftermath of abuse.
