Saints' Scrimmages

It’s never too early for Who Dat Nation to get ready for some football. On Thursday (4.07), the Saints released their full schedule and plans for the preseason.

Tiger TV

LSU baseball takes the mound in about a month and there will be plenty of opportunity to watch the Purple n’ Gold. For the second year running, all 56 of the team’s regular season games will be televised. (The post-season will, of course, also be televised, but that run has been short for the Tigers in the past two years).

Dropping A Dime On Barcadia

Gentle reader, as sojourners in this life we must take our entertainment where we find it. The dive bar and the neighborhood bar please us well. But let us indulge our curiosity and step inside an establishment that can be many places at once, brushing by geography and local culture like the broadcast of a syndicated television program. It’s time to take a peek into a chain bar – if only a regional chain bar. We’re off for a game or two, and perhaps a drink, at Barcadia.

Escaping Carnival at Mick's Irish Pub

Gentle reader, minor collapses are to be expected. Nay! Welcomed.  Kindly catastrophes of body and spirit burst forth like dryads from the oaks, slinging tiny fistfuls of poppy dust. And we are saved from ourselves. For the way to Mardi Gras is long, and along that way, we sometimes must rest.  My full intention was to write from some famous watering hole along the Uptown parade route, dear friends. But beset by the hepatic rigors of the past few weeks, strategic retreat was my only option. I needed somewhere out-of-the-way. Somewhere I could have a quiet drink and a few friendly bar games to salve my Carnival anxiety. And so it was that I made my way after a small ordeal into Mick’s Irish Pub on Bienville.

Committees Dish Bowl: Wolf Pack, OSU, Tide Rolling to Dome, LSU to Nashville

Despite, a disappointing season for SoLa in both pro and college football, there are still bowl games to look forward to. LSU was gifted the opportunity to finish the season in style. The Ragin’ Cajuns have found an appointment for their annual romp in da Dome, and it looks ‘Bama will be back in town in 2015.
