Today in NOLA: 6.03.16

The humidity is rising, but so is the volume today. Mystikal, Debauche, and Ike Stubbleflield are all setting their amps to 11 this evening. Plus, check out an art opening, the Stooges, or Colin Lake. On this day in history, men working at the Mint lost their title as federal employees after Louisiana seceded from the Union (1861), and Gov. Henry W. Allen delivered his farewell address at the end of the Civil War (1865). Don't lose today before checking these out:

Paul Santoleri Creates Bywater Mural in a Day

by M.D. Dupuy

Bring it on, Grey Ghost. Once again, an internationally-known street artist decided to wield his spray cans in the Bywater sunshine this afternoon. Paul Santoleri [legally] created a large-scale mural today in Clouet Gardens, (707 Clouet) and the 43-foot piece was completed within a few hours, thanks to the convenience of the medium.
