Mayor Mitch Avoids House Arrest

Mayor Mitch Threatened With House Arrest

Mayor Mitch found himself on the wrong side of the law on Friday (9.04) morning. The fight over firefighters’ backpay spilled into Civil District Judge Kern Reese’s court room and at the conclusion of the hearing Landrieu was held in contempt.

Working Group Sounds Alarm on Firefighters' Pension Fund

On Tuesday (11.11) evening, a ten-member working group of city officials, firefighter representatives and citizen representatives with expertise in key, relevant business fields such as accounting, finance and risk management met at Delgado Community College to discuss the troubled state of the firefighters’ pension fund.

Six Dogs Saved During Two Alarm Fire

On Sunday (10.5), the New Orleans Fire Department provided a feel good story in Algiers. Fire in a family’s home resulted in a two alarm response. NOFD managed to put out the inferno and save six dogs in the process.
