Charging Forward: THNOC Celebrates NOLA Calvary Book

NOLA is continuing to mark the sesquicentennial of several Civil War milestones. Tonight (10.8), war buffs and resident history fanatics are invited to attend a free reception and book signing at The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) (533 Royal Street) from 6 to 8p.m. Native of Alexandria and precise genealogist, Donald Peter Moriarty II, will present his new non-fiction book published by THNOC entitled A Fine Body of Men: The Orleans Light Horse, Louisiana Cavalry, 1861–1865 chronicling the ventures of a nearly forgotten group of New Orleans cavalrymen, who served in the divisive war.
