Costner and Fats to Bookend N.O. Film Fest

October will bring the 25th annual New Orleans Film Festival, and Hollywood South will be treated to a pair of premiers to mark the occasion. The festival will begin on Oct. 16th US premier of Black and White, a Kevin Costner vehicle shot in New Orlean. On Oct. 23rd, the fest will end with the world premier of The Big Beat, a documentary about Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew.

Fats Domino Named Krewe of Orpheus' Honorary Grand Marshal

From Al Johnson to Pete Fountain, local musicians always figure heavily into Carnival parades. But until this year, Fats Domino has largely sat out of the festivities. The legendary R&B crooner is set to have his name illuminated in lights all over again. According to the AP, Domino will serve as honorary Grand Marshal for the Krewe of Orpheus' Lundi Gras procession down St. Charles.
