New Orleans Ranked One of the Worst Places to Raise a Family


It’s no secret that New Orleans is a pretty great place to live. From joyous celebrations like Mardi Gras and Southern Decadence to the everyday presence of excellent food, music, and fun, no other city in U.S. can compete. But what’s it like for family units? A new study reveals the shortcomings in quality of life for families in New Orleans. WalletHub conducted the survey, analyzing 150 American cities on key criteria like health, safety, socioeconomics, education, and and family fun.

Community Rallies For Slain Domino's Driver Tonight

When tragedy befell pizza delivery driver Michael Price, his family was left in its murderous wake.  Locals quickly set about garnering aid for Price’s wife and three children so that the family would not have to face this misfortune alone. Soon after Michael Price’s murder was reported, a gofundme.com page was created by concerned local James "Jimmy" Delery. It has already accumulated over $35,000 for Price's family. Not ready to stop there, Delery also organized a fundraiser Thursday (4.09) to raise more funds for the family.


Woman Found Lost


The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) report missing people almost daily. Now, police are seeking assistance with the case of a found person. 73 year old Ruth Williams was found wandering in Uptown last night (1.08). The NOPD are asking for help finding her family or caretakers.


Police Pick Up 5th Suspect in Burgundy St. Shooting


The alleged driver in the notorious Burgundy St. shooting has been apprehended. The August 10th shooting killed two people including a 16-year-old girl and wounded five others including a two-year-old boy and a four-year-old boy. Michael Finnie, 34 years old, was arrested Wednesday (8.27) on the 3500 block of Kings St. in Chalmette.


Two More Arrests in Burgundy Street Shooting


Two more suspects have been apprehended in connection with the August 10th shooting that killed two people including a 16-year-old girl and wounded five others including a two-year-old boy and a four-year-old boy. The collars were a joint effort between the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshalls. One of the two men apprehended is a suspected shooter.
