Rappers Love Saints

San Francisco's mayor has ensured the lights will be on at Candlestick Park, so now all that's left in preparation for tomorrow's playoff game is for rappers to pick the score. Following in the footsteps of (Packers fan) Lil Wayne's short-lived football column, publications of purported repute are now calling on the nimble-mouthed spitters to predict NFL playoff scores. Over at Billboard, N.O. native and Cash Money records founder Birdman represents for the Saints against San Francisco rapper Asher Roth.

Hola Nola: XXXVIII

Last Licks for Lyricists

Hola Nola, and hola the slew of year-end-music roundups that consume each month of December and distract from the albums that have yet to surface before the ball drops.

Hola Nola: XXXII

Fear & Loathing in New Orleans

Hola Nola- and Hola Halloween weekend, full of freaks, creeps, spooks, mischief, and fear. There's quite the array of thematic band names and songs for this Pagan Pride Parade (Vampire Weekend, the True Blood theme song Smashing Pumpkins, Nikki Manaj), but instead, this playlist reveals twelve songs that just really scare me. Be it violence, lyrical threats, derogatory obscenities, eerie instrumentals, or Scream-O severity, many guilty pleasures have been revealed; the bands that are about to be featured have never seen the Hola Nola light of day, and after this ya'll may never see me in the same light again.
