Shooting on Decatur


Decatur is getting dangerous. Early on Wednesday (1.06) morning, a man was shot in the leg just past the the strip’s intersection with Elysian Fields Avenue according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).


Arches' Enemy


You deserve a break today! Unfortunately, employees at the McDonald’s at 3025 Elysian Fields Avenue will not be getting a break today. Instead, they got a break-in according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).


School of Wreck


In the second major accident of Thursday (10.22) morning, a school bus was involved in a significant crash on Elysian Fields Avenue. No fatalities were reported, but the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is on the scene.


Mega-Move for MegaBus


The MegaBus is a popular means of getting from city to city cheaply. However, the discount service has not been popular with residents of the Marigny. Since the company began operating from Elysian Fields in April 2011, locals have been campaigning to move the service to a proper terminal. On Tuesday (8.12), MegaBus announced that they will indeed move to an actual bus station.


Walgreens at Elysian & St. Claude Held Up (Video)


Since the Federal Flood, the Walgreens on the corner of Elysian Fields and St. Claude Avenue has functioned as a de facto supermarket for several neighborhoods. Unfortunately on Sunday (8.09), the institution was the scene of an armed robbery.


Man Arrested for Elysian Hit and Run


Police have made an arrest in connection with the hit-and-run which claimed the life of local artist Benjamin Gregory on July 7. 45-year-old Curtis Joseph Turner was arrested and will be charged with one count of Manslaughter and one count of Felony Hit-and-Run.


Cyclist Killed on Elysian


A male cyclist is dead, the victim of a Monday (7.06) night hit and run in the Marigny, according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).


NOPD Officer Killed While Transporting Suspect, Manhunt Ensues

On Saturday (6.20) morning, New Orleans Police Officer Daryle Holloway was killed in his vehicle by a suspect that he was transporting according  to a statement from the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).


Silent Cinema: Indywood in Exile


Sadly, one local cinema is blurring the lines between silent movies and movies gone silent. Indywood, the popular art house theatre, announced that they will be temporarily closing their on Elysian Fields Avenue location and hosting a series of outdoor screenings while they sort out venue issues.


Man Arrested for DWI After Wreck With Motorcycle


For the second time this week, Elysian Fields Avenue was the sight of serious accident. After a wreck on Friday (5.08) night, two people are in the hospital and one man is in jail.
