Beaucoup BUKU

Pics and Highlights from the Fest

Why do you Buku? The festival gets most of it's appeal from bringing that bass to New Orleans, but it has some other things to offer as well. Yesterday, people traveled to catch a melange of performances ranging from hip-hop, to instrumental electronic, to heavy dub beats including A$AP Rocky, STS9, Empire of the Sun, RL Grime, Boosie Badazz, Run the Jewels and Die Antwoord. Today, Bassnectar headlines at the Power Plant stage.

A sold out crowd raged on until past midnight for the first day of Buku Fest. The festival gets going for it’s second round today at 3p.m. and attendees should be prepared again for long ticket lines. The Irish Channel St. Patricks Day Parade rolls uptown, and the Futurebirds band from the college town of Athens plays at One Eyed Jacks. Drew Brees signed with the Saints on this day in 2006. Now, more to do this Saturday.

BUKU Breaks The Naked Truth (Video & Lineup)

BUKU Music + Art Project just released their lineup for 2015. This year, New Orleans resident EDM fest announced the artists to appear during the two-day festival Mar 13-14, 2015 via video. “The Naked Truth” makes consuming headliner acts fast and easy, as well as strips down a humorous music video to take your mind off the workweek for a few minutes. Next year’s lineup offers a balanced fusion of electronic, hip hop and indie rock music including Bassnectar, A$AP Rocky, Passion Pit, Empire of the Sun, Die Antwoord, Porter Robinson (Live), TV on the Radio, STS9, and Flosstradamus.
