Four parades are rolling through the Quarter on Easter Sunday. The National Weather Service (NWS) is prediting scattered thunderstorms all day, but as of press time, the processions are on rain or shine.

This evening, Peelander-Z is playing their annual Easter gig, Gal Holiday is at BMC, and Joe Krown is playing his regular show at the Leaf. On this day in 1934, Rev. Four Parades Ready to Roll on Easter



For many people, Easter is a day of faith, but in New Orleans we like to show in some rollin’ and throwin’ with our Catholicism. Easter Sunday (3.27) is cause for four separate parades in the Crescent City. All the details about the Historic French Quarter Easter Parade, the Original Pigeon Town Steppers Second Line, Chris Owens’ Easter Parade, and the Gay Easter Parade follow.


Easter Shooting in Carrollton


The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) are investigating a Carrollton shooting on Easter Day (4.05). The afternoon gunplay left one man dead and another man in the hospital.

Bar Hop: Bunarchy 2015


Saturday (4.04) night, hundreds of costumed revelers in the Marigny will be multiplying like bunnies. Clad in latex and leather masks, some PoMo rabbits will be bar crawling for a cause. The scene is all part of Bunarchy 2015.
