Today in New Orleans 3.16.13

Find another green shirt to throw on, or you’ll definitely get pinched. Enjoy block parties, parades, and more to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend. On this day in 1999, local greats Roosevelt Sykes and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown were inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C. Now, more to do this beautiful Saturday.

Audubon Zoo Goes Green for Earth Fest

by Elaina Patton

The Audubon Nature Institute will be hosting “a party for conservation” dubbed "Earth Fest" this Saturday, March 16th. From 10am to 5 pm, visitors will canoodle with representatives from local non-profits, businesses, and government agencies for the purpose of green education. Attendees can peruse food and craft vendors, musical festivities, and a game that encourages children to seek out answers to pressing environmental questions.
