Cuddle Krewe

Cute and cuddly is cool, except when it’s not throughs out. With Easter coming, the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (La-SPCA) is cautioning New Orleanians about ill planned pet rabbit adoptions. Fortunately, the agency also is providing an alternative: puppy loans.

Good Eggs Gets Scrambled

Just when New Orleanians were getting used to the convenience of online orders appearing at their doorstep, grocer Good Eggs is shutting down operations in the Crescent City. In a Wednesday (8.05) post on the company’s blog, CEO and co-founder Rob Spiro announced that the service is set to end in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn.

The company’s drivers will be delivering ice cream to customers in 250 cities worldwide, this year including New Orleans. Liquor Delivery Gets an App

Life just got better for thirsty homebodies. A new app makes drive-thru daiquiri shops seem quaint. NOLA’s first on-demand booze delivery service is starting up on Thursday (7.09). The New Orleans outpost of Drizzly will allow customers to order beer, wine, and liquor delivered to their door through a convenient app.

Busy Time for Crime in Bywater

Rising property values did nothing to deter crime in the Bywater on Saturday (5.17) and Sunday (5.18) morning. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) are investigating three crimes over a 24 hour span in the neighborhood.

Community Rallies For Slain Domino's Driver Tonight

When tragedy befell pizza delivery driver Michael Price, his family was left in its murderous wake.  Locals quickly set about garnering aid for Price’s wife and three children so that the family would not have to face this misfortune alone. Soon after Michael Price’s murder was reported, a page was created by concerned local James "Jimmy" Delery. It has already accumulated over $35,000 for Price's family. Not ready to stop there, Delery also organized a fundraiser Thursday (4.09) to raise more funds for the family.

Arrest in Domino's Driver Death, Hit and Run Car Found

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) logged a couple of wins in the past 24 hours. This morning authorities arrested primary suspect in the shooting death of Michael Price, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver. In the case of a 71-year-old woman killed in a hit and run, detectives believe that the deadly vehicle is now in hand.

New Orleanians know that bartenders getting off of their shifts with a pocket full of cash are common targets for crime. However, it is often forgotten that delivery people, often meeting the same criteria, rank among the highest job related assault and homicide rates of any profession. Richard Yeager, Dominos delivery man was murdered last night (9.21) in Mid City providing a stark reminder of the dangers.
