In other news, PhotoNOLA comes to a close today, with gallery talks and a finale slideshow. R&B legend Aaron Neville is performing a Christmas show at the Civic, and Amanda Shaw is in Jackson Square. On this day in 1802, President Jefferson tried to purchase the Isle of Orleans, fearing a French takeover. Deathtrap

Review of Comedy/Thriller, Now at the Shadowbox Theatre



The Shadowbox is now hosting Deathtrap, a 1978 meta-theatrical comedy thriller by playwright Ira Levin. Directed by Frederick Mead, this thriller-spoof delivers laughs and plot twists at the cozy black box theatre along St. Claude.

There’s a pair of second lines in Algiers and Treme, a New Orleans Style Christmas Concert in St. Louis Cathedral, and a costume contest for pets kicking off in the Warehouse District.  On this day in 1769, officials met for the first time in the Cabildo.
