Bloody Good: Howlin Wolf’s Bloody Mary Festival

It seems a perfect union: Bloody Mary, the perfect hangover restorative brunch drink. Sunday, the day of rest... and for the heathens among us, the day of brunch. The team at Howlin Wolf has done the city a favor, teaming up with the Bloody Mary Liberation Party to scour New Orleans for the finest beverages to nurse our post-Saturday night fevers and shakes at their Bloody Mary Festival

Wagging the Dog

Downtown Wieners Reviewed for National Hot Dog Day

New Orleans has a unique way of blending the very old with the very new as if were done with a careful and conscious hand. There are things we New Orleanians take very seriously: our independence, our neighborhood, our football team, our parties, and our food. Every aspect of food is debated be it seafood, poboys or yes...even hotdogs!

Today in NOLA: 5.07.15

New Orleans is falling back into her regular routine. Today’s events feature a lineup of local favorites. On this day in 1862, Union soldiers defeated the defenders of Baton Rouge in the Civil War and claimed the Red Stick as their own. Now, more to do this Thursday.

Monkey Business: Dat Dog Robbed

Dat Dog (5030 Freret Street) is a popular pioneer of the Freret revival. Last night, the technicolor sausage spot was the victim of a robber with sartorial sensibilities to match the establishment’s funky style.

Suds for Sausages

Dat Dog quickly established themselves as the best at wurst. But, a good dog tastes better with a cold one. So, the popular sausage spot is now unveiling their joint venture into beer with Bayou Teche.

Dag Dog Uses Wurst to Do Their Best for NOMAF

New Year’s Eve may be a night to be naughty, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t do some good in the process. On New Year’s Eve (12.31), Dat Dog will bear rolling out some specials to benefit the New Musicians Assistance Fund (NOMAF)

Wonder Wurst: Dat Dog Hosts Three Reality Shows this Week

NOLA’s burgeoning film industry has seen the CBD taken over by apes, and Abraham Lincoln slay vampires. Now, Hollywood South is getting in on the hot dog game. This week three different reality shows will be heading to Dat Dog for filming.

Dat Dog, Adelita's Way, On A Leash for LA-SPCA

Dat Dog is a little wacky, but not the type of establishment to go off the leash. To the contrary, the popular hot dog destination will be hosting “Dog on a Leash” to raise funds for the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA-SPCA). On Wednesday (9.24), the Dat Dog downtown location (601 Frenchmen Street) will be the site of a Yappy Hour and an Eat n’ Greet with rockers Adelita’s Way.

Dat Dog Open on Frenchmen

by Stacy Coco

Dat Dog is officially open for business today on Frenchmen, and it’s not an April Fool’s joke, said co-owner Constantine Georges. The third addition to the restaurant chain is a two-story, multi-colored establishment complete with a wrap-around balcony and bars both upstairs and downstairs.
