Payton's Pay Day

As promised, Sean Payton is with New Orleans for the long haul. On Wednesday (3.23), the Saints head coach announced that negotiations are complete on his new contract.

Low Brow: Davis Could Lose 23 MIl

Anthony Davis’ season came to a disappointing end on Sunday (3.20) when the Pelicans announced that the franchise’s star is done for the season due to injury. The Brow is most likely just as frustrated as Birds fans whose playoff hopes are all but destroyed at this point. After all, Davis stands to lose 23 million dollars on account of his early departure.

Payton Preps for Pay

Despite the drama and speculation that has surrounded Louisiana football for the past six months, it appears that the key personnel will not change during the 2016 season. During a radio interview on Thursday (2.25), Sean Payton said that he is close to closing a contract extension and added that he expects Brees to be back as well.

Payton Presser Payoff?

The 2015 Saints raised a lot of questions about the franchise’s future. Social media went into overdrive with debates about Breesus, C.J. Spiller, the O-line (or lack thereof), and Rob Ryan. However, the number one question was the fate of coach Sean Payton. Today, Payton offered a definitive answer during his year-end press confeerence. NoDef live-blogged the event as a (almost) emotional Payton gushed about his love of NOLA. Click through for highlights.

ESPN: Payton Ready To Leave

A (black and) golden era for the Saints may be drawing to a close. ESPN’s Adam Scheffer reported that Sean Payton and the team are taking the first steps towards an amicable split.

Release the Sounds! Shearer Returns to Simpsons

Exxxxccccellent news Smithers! New Orleanian Harry Shearer will be returning to The Simpsons. In May, Shearer announced that he was departing from the beloved television series, but after extended talks Shearer decided to return to Springfield.

Harry Shearer Leaves the Simpsons

Ask a Simpsons fan how much more dark their Thursday (5.14) could be, and the answer would be “None.” Late last night, New Orleanian Harry Shearer took to Twitter to announce that his relations with the powers at Fox were not exxxxcelllent and consequently, he would be leaving the show that he has appeared on since its 1989 premier.

Flight Failure: Pelicans Abort Monty Williams Contract

The 2014-2015 NBA season saw the Pelicans return to the playoffs and New Orleanians responded with enthusiasm normally reserved for the Saints. However, the run was too little, too late for Pelicans brass. Tuesday (5.12), Pelicans Executive Vice President Mickey Loomis announced that coach Monty Williams will not be returning next year.

"Blessed" Ingram Stays a Saint

Mark Ingram is a man accustomed to proving the pundits wrong. First, the talking heads were adamant that the Saints running back was yet another Heisman winner who couldn’t make it in the pros. After, the five foot nine, 215 pound Alabama allum put up a Pro Bowl season, the chattering class was convinced that a departure from New Orleans was imminent. Ingram proved them wrong again. Number 22 inked a four year, 16 million dollar contract to stay a Saint.

Ingram Not Tagged, But Still It

The past few off-seasons for the Saints have been an education in the finer points of the NFL rulebook not to mention the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Jimmy Graham alone provided enough legal drama to fill a John Grisham novel. Negotiations in 2015 might generate lots of ink, but unlike the Graham saga, the “franchise player” tag will probably not come into play according to the NFL Network,
