Pour Job: NOLA Chefs Star in Coca-Cola Ad Campaign

Be it jambalaya and Sazeracs or po-boys and Abita, the union of food and beverage is the holiest of matrimonies in the Crescent City. A new campaign “Serve with a Coca-Cola” enlisted several top New Orleans chefs to do just that — with Aarón Sánchez of Johnny Sánchez and Byron Bradley of Sylvain offering meals to pair with the soda in a series of new ads.

Gather all round and let's spin a yarn, now. In addition to producing some of the best root beer this side of anywhere, Edmond Charles Edmond Barq Sr. apparently liked to lie in the sarsaparilla with other women. Or, at least one. Barq had himself Jasper Robinson out of wedlock, who took a liking to the root beer business and started his very own plant right the middle of New Orleans in Jackson Square.
