Review: Joli Livaudais' Multi-Media Show "Dreams & Replies"



On Saturday night, Martine Chaisson Gallery unveiled Monroe artist Joli Livaudais’ “Dreams and Replies” as its April show.  “Dreams and Replies” is a series of encounters which is especially suitable for the springtime, with scenes of burgeoning life in the form of the earth’s longest-continuing and most-successfully adapting phylum, the arthropods.

Review: Bunny Matthews' Cartoons Show NOLA, A-Z



Bunny Matthews new show “The People of New Orleans from A to Z” hangs at the Arthur Roger Gallery throughout March until April 19th, celebrating a closing reception on Saturday the 5th.  The series reads like a children’s A to Z book of illustrations on uniformly 17x14 paper, ink, and colored pencil renderings.

Billboards Dot Staple Goods Walls for 'Jack Lake, Redux': Art Review



In the 1920’s in Southern Ontario, homebuilder Jack Lake autographed his handiwork by signing a framing board inside the home he’d just built. Upon renovating that home, artist Jack Niven discovered the indexical and personal imprint and took it up like a thrift store jacket. Thanks to this random, years-old encounter, we now have “Jack Lake, Redux” posited onto two grateful walls at Staple Goods throughout the month of March and early April.

Review: Lee Deigaard's Film & Photographic Exhibits at the Ogden



Lee Deigaard has two shows on view at the Ogden through April 6th.  One is a series of photographs from her show “Unbidden” which debuted at The Front in 2012.  The other work is a video installation titled “Pulse” which features a bonus quasi-sculptural bench/ grassy patch on which to view the work in the Tunnel Gallery.
