Rainmaker: Judge Reopens 3 Bourbon Clubs

The weekend forecast calls for stormy weather dismaying many. But, on Bourbon Street, a few gentlemen’s clubs are happy that their customers can continue to make it rain. A civil district ruling returned the liquor licenses to three of five strip clubs sanctioned by the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) on Tuesday (10.27).

Bad Trip

NOPD Make Big Bust Blocks From Fest

The vending rules at Jazz Fest are pretty strict. Even if you live nearby, the Fest frowns down upon unlicensed sales. If those unlicensed sales are enough drugs to stock Hunter S. Thompson’s suitcase, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) does not appreciate it either. Today, detectives busted a Mid City man for allegedly planning to sell a potpourri of recreational narcotics.

Crack Clampdown

A citizen tip resulted in a bust at an alleged Algiers crack house on Wednesday (4.08). The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Street Gang Task Force Unit arrested three men on drug charges, rescued a baby, and seized a stash of crack after the dust had settled.

Mail Nail: NOPD Smokes Out Dealer After 5.6lb of Weed Shipped to Neighbor

Many visitors to Colorado and California think that mailing weed home is just fine. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) disagrees. On Tuesday (12.23), police busted 20 year old Dominic Angelica with 10 pounds of marijuana 10,000 dollars in cash after a neighbor accidentally received one of his shipments.

Tip Leads NOPD to 7 Pound of Pot

In this day and age, someone is always watching. One alleged drug dealer has found out when he was arrested with pounds of pot after an anonymous tip to the police. According to the boys in blue, detectives received a tip that Henderson was up to no good several weeks ago, and have been casing his place ever since.

Not for Teacher: Educator Busted for Drugs

A Plaquemines Parish school teacher and his roommate are headed for some serious detention after an inter-agency operation ended with a drug bust at their residence. Three different agencies coordinated to follow up on a tip about the educator and ultimately discovered a criminal stash of heroin, acid, 'shrooms, and weed at an uptown residence.

LaRocca Bust Sparks Anger at Jazz Panel

Last weekend at the Old U.S. Mint, a state-sponsored event provided a flashpoint in one the of the long-running disputes about early jazz history, as a group of local musicians ran into one figure they weren't expecting to see.

New Orleans police uprooted yet another local entrepreneur just tryin' to get by yesterday. The business in question appeared well-equipped. Among items seized from the home headquarters at 5402 Charms Ct. in New Orleans East were 26 pounds of raw marijuana, 150 marijuana plants, a large climate control air conditioner, an air purifier, fertilizer, grow pucks and a PH Balance Treatment Kit. Police were alerted to the operation after a caretaker sent to check on the condition of the property noticed the newly cultivated use of the home, a release states.
