Big Easy Rollergirls Ditch Wheels for Dance-Off (PHOTOS)

The Big Easy Rollergirls have a busy offseason, and it includes more than scrimmages. BERG hosted this year's Solid Gold Dance-Off last night at the Eiffel Society. Proceeds went to the Audubon Institute. The Camel Toe Lady Steppers took third place, the Nola Cherry Bombs took second, and the Star-Steppin' Cosmonaughties came in first place for the second year in a row.

Sunday Second Line Celebrates 10th Anniversary for Keep-N-It-Real

Lent is here, but parades are year round in New Orleans. Sunday second lines began again yesterday in the Sixth and Seventh Wards, with the Keep-N-It-Real Social Aide and Pleasure Club celebrating their tenth anniversary. Click through for photos.

The floats and throws present a krewe's Carnival showcase, but the city's high schools get a full showing from the many marching bands that take part in parades throughout the two-week parade season.

Crowds camped out again for the city's largest parade, which rolled along its Mid-City route last night. The Krewe of Endymion was celebrating "An Evening at the Opera" with The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus and The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder parading as celebrity guests. Nerds Herd for Krewe of Chew, Microkrewe 'tit rex (PHOTOS)

Saturday night proved that political satire is not limited to super krewes and floats, and that the Carnival spirit can be captured in a shoebox. 'tit rex brought this year's microkrewe themed "Wee the People" to the Marigny at 5 p.m., followed by the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus at 8 p.m.

The crowds were still relatively thin for the first major Mardi Gras weekend, and a trio of parades rolled on Saturday, February 22. Krewe of Pontchartrain and Krewe of Choctaw rolled down their traditional routes Uptown, followed by the inaugural roll of the Krewe of Freret.

Brandon Robert Captures Krewe du Vieux 2014 "Where the Vile Things Are" and krewedelusion

Krewe du Vieux rolled through the French Quarter and the Marigny last night, for the 27th year in a row. The satire-heavy parade was full of sexual innuendo, jabs at local pols, and endless adaptations of their "Where the Vile Things Are" theme for the year. krewedelusion followed behind, with this year's Queen, DJ Soul Sister. Click through for more.  

Trash Mob Takes on Bayou St. John (Photos)

While many New Orleanians were sampling king cakes at Champions Square, the NOLA Trash Mob was cleaning up da' Bayou on Sunday. The volunteer group meets once a week to tackle a different area of the city, and Brandon Robert captured some highlights from this Sunday's pickup.
