T-Bois Announces Lineup

Louisiana is a state that knows how to fest. So much so that sometimes the event blend together. However, only one fest features a giant, burning alligator head rising out of the bayou: T-Bois Blues Blues Fest. The gathering held on an alligator farm in LaRose will be returning on March 20 and 21 with a newly announced lineup.

Fire on the Bayou

Algiers Bonfire Ready to Light Up Christmas Season

Tis the Season for fire on the bayou. Saturday (12.06) night, Algiers hopes Papa Noel will notice their bonfire beacon and make the Point his first stop on Christmas Eve. The Algiers Bonfire and Concert will celebrate the holidays with food, music, and, of course, fire.

Ferry Little Christmas: Algiers Bonfire Floats Concert, Tribute

In Louisiana, the fat guy can’t arrive until he sees the light from the levee. On Saturday (12/7), the West Bank community of Algiers Point will be doing their part to guide the sleigh, and throwing in a little plug for their own preferred mode of transportation. The annual Algiers Bonfire will light the banks of the Mighty Mississppi, and feature a concert that makes it a full night’s engagement.

Bonfirin' Eve

Why stop a 100+ year tradition now? Merry Xmas y'all, and merry Mississippi River bonfires all night long. Starting at 7:00PM, the levee will become a fire flame spitter, when more than 100 tee-pee-like structures will be lit along from Gramercy to Lutcher all the way to Paulina (50 miles west of NOLA). This custom has been an annual ritual since the 19th Century, and legend has it that the fires light the path for Santa's parish pitstop.
