Today in NOLA 3.18.17

Today, New Orleanians are in the thick of it — between St. Patrick's Day yesterday and St. Joseph's Day, and Super Sunday tomorrow, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. NoDef has made it easy, sharing the coolest events around town today. The New World Rhythms Fest is back in Armstrong Park, while liberal-leaning political comedian Bill Maher will return to the Saenger stage. John Waters brings his Filthier and Dirtier tour to the Joy. John Boutte is doing his thing at d.b.a., and Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst will perform with The Felice Brothers at the Civic Theatre. On this day in 1687, LaSalle was assassinated by his own men. Now, more this Saturday.

Saenger's Grand Opening Lineup: Seinfeld, Men of Soul, Bill Maher

The historic Saenger Theatre has been out of commission for over eight years, and their celebratory rebirth will include more than just Broadway shows. Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Maher, D.L. Hughley, Kristin Chenoweth, and many more are on the lineup for the Saenger’s grand opening celebration, set for this fall, September 28, 2013 through January 10, 2014.
