Drinking Culture

Dropping A Dime On Barcadia

Gentle reader, as sojourners in this life we must take our entertainment where we find it. The dive bar and the neighborhood bar please us well. But let us indulge our curiosity and step inside an establishment that can be many places at once, brushing by geography and local culture like the broadcast of a syndicated television program. It’s time to take a peek into a chain bar – if only a regional chain bar. We’re off for a game or two, and perhaps a drink, at Barcadia.

Here Crawls Santa Claus

A surplus of Santas. Ho Ho Hooray, New Orleans is going to celebrate Christmas the same way it does every other holiday of the year – by getting dressed up and drunk. This December 13th there will be three, we repeat three, Santa themed pub crawls taking place around the city. Click through for all the details.

Broken Record

Record Breaking Events for World Hepatitis Day, Bridal Crawl to Benefit Cafe Reconcile

New Orleanians are used to setting the bar when it comes to imbibing and dining, but in coming months, Big Easy residents will get a chance to break some official world records.

Downtown Pop-Update

O!Vegsam Heads for Barcadia, Killer Tacos Moving into Molly's

Pub grub has gone the way of the pop-up in the center of New Orleans. Even with the summer heat setting in, chefs are moving new operations into a pair of popular local watering holes.
