A.V. Club: NOLA Band Names are Slutty, Too Big for this HeadlineNew Orleans music again gained national recognition this week when Rebirth Brass Band garnered a Grammy nod. Y'know, gramaphones and all. But it seems we're also making it in the bawdy, long-winded world of the Interweb. The Onion's A/V Club chose two of the Crescent City's own musical mainstays for their year end list of best...band names. On top of their tunery, The Local Skank and Why are We Building Such a Big Ship? apparently have a way with words. |
