Two Arrested in Algiers Murder

Jared Hester, 18, was killed on October 4, and police have booked two suspects for the teen’s murder, according to NOPD. The Violent Offenders Warrants Squad (VOWS) arrested suspected gunman Brent Riggins, 18, on the morning of October 21. Aaron Thibodeaux, also 18, was also booked for the murder. Thibodeaux was already in OPP for an unrelated charge.

Two Arrested in Algiers Murder

A 24-year-old man was killed in Algiers yesterday, and NOPD arrested the suspected shooters within an hour of the murder. Hours later, police arrested a man at a routine traffic stop in the same area. NOPD attributes the speedy apprehensions to “Mission 2”, a crime fighting initiative intended to increase foot traffic and improve relationships between law enforcement and residents.

Weekend Murders Leave 3 Dead

New Orleans police are investigating three separate shootings across the city that left three men dead in the course of 12 hours. The murders occurred in Central City, Hollygrove, and Algiers, between 7pm yesterday, March 17, and 3am this morning.
