Abita to Debut Spring IPA in MarchAbita is looking to the hops for new life this spring. Once Mardi Gras Bock meets its Ash Wednesday, the Northshore brewery is making way for a brand new offering this year: Spring IPA. The brew is set to hit shelves and taps in March, replacing Abita's Red Ale in the seasonal rotation. Abita Cans Hit the ShelvesJust in time for parades down St. Charles Avenue, Abita's long-awaited entry to the craft can movement hit the stores. Today, as beer o'clock loomed, NoDef laid down $8 (+ tax) for a six-pack of Jockamo IPA at the Mid-City Rouses, confirming that yesterday was indeed the delivery date. Judging by the half-empty look of the shelf and the customer who marveled at the cans in line, we weren't the only ones who were curious. Burgers, beer, and beautiful surroundingsBy Christopher Herbeck
As much as we all love the fair city of New Orleans, lets face it, sometimes you got to get out the city. After all, the charm of living in the South is its quaintness, and you can't get more quaint than a day trip to Abita Springs. This little town is home of the Abita Brewery where they craft the finest of the Louisiana's local beer staple, Abita Beer. While you can find Abita products in every bar in New Orleans, its not a waste of time to go directly to the source. |
