Not Funny: Jesters Lose 0-4 to Chattanooga FC

Chattanooga FC demolished the New Orleans Jesters 4-0 in front of a visibly disappointed home crowd at Pan American Stadium Saturday night. The loss starts a 5 game home streak for the Jesters who need to use the extended stay in City Park to dig themselves out of a 4th place hole.

Ending the starry eyed speculation about bold faced names like John Calipari and Jeff Van Gundy, the Pelicans picked their new head coach today according to multiple reports.  Alvin Gentry will be leading the Birds next season according to sources.

Jimmy Graham may have headed to the Pacific Northwest, but NOLA was the scene of many slams and spikes this weekend. The season opening AVP New Orleans Open tourney wrapped up a display of world class beach volleyball this weekend.

AVP Serves Up Beach Volleyball Tourney

This Memorial Day weekend (5.22-5.24), you don’t have to get caught in the vacation traffic, because the beach is coming to New Orleans. The Association of Volleyball Professionals is bringing the first of seven beach volleyball tournaments nationwide to Kenner with the New Orleans Open.

New Orleans sports fans will be saying good-bye to one player. However, it looks like they might not be saying hello to one coach. Today, the Saints released kicker Shayne Graham and Kentucky hoops coach John Calipari said that he will not be moving to the Boot.

Coach Farrelll Rips Refs After Jesters Draw Nashville FC, 1-1

The Jesters suffered a setback on Saturday (5.16) when referee Darren Browder made two late, questionable calls that allowed Nashville FC the opportunity to leave New Orleans tied 1-1. Tony Judice scored for the Jesters while Simon Nett’s unfortunate own goal gave Nashville the draw.

The New York Football Giants might be a little worried about the alleged “Madden Curse,” but the LSU faithful are elated. Tiger alum and native New Orleanian Odell Beckham, Jr. was announced as the cover boy for the blockbuster videogame title’s 2015 edition.

Flight Failure: Pelicans Abort Monty Williams Contract

The 2014-2015 NBA season saw the Pelicans return to the playoffs and New Orleanians responded with enthusiasm normally reserved for the Saints. However, the run was too little, too late for Pelicans brass. Tuesday (5.12), Pelicans Executive Vice President Mickey Loomis announced that coach Monty Williams will not be returning next year.

In the event that you spot a purple cloud wafting across City Park on Saturday (5.09) night, do not be alarmed. The mysterious mist is not the usual petrochemical gas leak or radioactive metahuman pesticide, but instead smoke bombs lit by the Royal Court to signal the start of the New Orleans Jesters’ 2015 season.
