Low Brow: Davis Could Lose 23 MIl

Anthony Davis’ season came to a disappointing end on Sunday (3.20) when the Pelicans announced that the franchise’s star is done for the season due to injury. The Brow is most likely just as frustrated as Birds fans whose playoff hopes are all but destroyed at this point. After all, Davis stands to lose 23 million dollars on account of his early departure.

Not So Elementary: Watson Out

Free agent deals can not be made official until Wednesday (3.09) at 3:00p.m. However, the Saints’ tight end carousel is already spinning again. A year after the shocking departure of Jimmy Graham, his replacement Ben Watson is leaving the Crescent City to play for the Baltimore Ravens according to the Baltimore Sun.

Colston Cut

Black n’ Gold hero Marques Colston was cut by the Saints after 10 seasons in New Orleans according to the NFL’s transaction wire.

TV Sinner?

Sean Payton may have another challenge during the preseason. A new report from Mike Florio of NBCSN professes that the Saints are concerned about being forced to star in the next season of “Hard Knocks.”

Payton Preps for Pay

Despite the drama and speculation that has surrounded Louisiana football for the past six months, it appears that the key personnel will not change during the 2016 season. During a radio interview on Thursday (2.25), Sean Payton said that he is close to closing a contract extension and added that he expects Brees to be back as well.

Brow Breaks Records & the Internet

On Sunday (2.21) night, Anthony Davis branded his name into the NBA record books. The Pelican posted and pulled down 20 rebounds. Ina addition to topping the franchise scoring list, he became only the third player in the last 50 years post 55 points and 20 rebounds in a single game. Such gaudy stats elicited analysis from media beyond the sporting world.

Tigers' Time: LSU's Big Signing Day

LSU had a monster Signing Day on Wednesday (2.03). Rummel's Kristian Fulton, as well as IMG's Savion Smith and DrakeDavis have been dominating headlines for months, but from top to bottom, the 2016 class is a best. In fact, the Tigers placed in the top three of nearly every ranking of recruiting classes. (Unfortunately, so did Alabama).

Tiger TV

LSU baseball takes the mound in about a month and there will be plenty of opportunity to watch the Purple n’ Gold. For the second year running, all 56 of the team’s regular season games will be televised. (The post-season will, of course, also be televised, but that run has been short for the Tigers in the past two years).

Payton Presser Payoff?

The 2015 Saints raised a lot of questions about the franchise’s future. Social media went into overdrive with debates about Breesus, C.J. Spiller, the O-line (or lack thereof), and Rob Ryan. However, the number one question was the fate of coach Sean Payton. Today, Payton offered a definitive answer during his year-end press confeerence. NoDef live-blogged the event as a (almost) emotional Payton gushed about his love of NOLA. Click through for highlights.

ESPN: Payton Ready To Leave

A (black and) golden era for the Saints may be drawing to a close. ESPN’s Adam Scheffer reported that Sean Payton and the team are taking the first steps towards an amicable split.
