The New Orleans Police Department saw eight crimes hit the city on Thursday (8.31). According to the Major Offense Log (MOL), the NOPD responded to property snatching, carjacking, aggravated burglary, a stabbing, three shootings, and an attempted simple robbery. 

 

At the intersection of Chestnut St. and Valmont St., an unknown male approached a 71-year-old woman at 11:26AM. He then grabbed her phone, at which time a struggle over the phone occurred. The man managed to get hold, grab the phone, and then flee on a bike.
